Friday 5/3/13: Glen's Hop Vice Release All Day! {@Oakshire Public House 207 Madison}

Join us in our new Public House as we release Glen's Hop Vice! Deep auburn in color, Glen's 2013 has a fruity citrus aroma and balanced bitterness with mild honey flavors in the middle. With a bold citrus flavors and lingering pine aromas on the finish, Glen's ends with a long lingering hop trail. ABV: 9.8% 

Satruday 5/4/13: Sasquatch Brewfest 12-11 {@Eugene Hilton}

As the days get longer, and the warmer weather approaches that tells us one thing here at Oakshire – it’s time to release The Perfect Storm. A double IPA packed full of Northwest Hops, with a juicy malt body and an intense hop bitterness that lingers after each sip. Every year this beer recipe changes ever so slightly as we search for that perfect hop combination that will blend just right with local ingredients to come together in The Perfect Storm of ales.

It’s official! The Oakshire Public House at 207 Madison Street is now open 11a-10p daily.  Our Grand Opening will be this Thursday 5/2 from 5p-10p with live music by the Whiskey Chasers and food available for purchase by Oregon Wood Fired Pizza and Burgers on the Run. No cover, and minors welcome until 8p.

The 2013 Craft Brewers Conference (CBC) came to a close this past Friday at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. My fifth CBC, a three day event that takes place in a different US City each year; this year’s conference was extraordinary in many ways.

Oakshire Brewing founder Jeff Althouse and Brewmaster Matt Van Wyk are headed to Washington D.C. for the annual Craft Brewers Conference and BrewExpo America. They’ll be joining over 5,000 brewing industry professionals for continued brewing education, idea sharing, and the opportunity to build positive business relationships.

Oakshire Brewing is proud to announce that 1% of Watershed IPA sales revenue will be set aside for the protection of local watersheds in the territories where the beer is sold. Local land conservation group, the McKenzie River Trust, will be the first recipient of this source water protection program. Join Oakshire & McKenzie River Trust on May 16th 5-8p to celebrate! 

The Brewers at Oakshire are proud to release their flagship beer, Watershed IPA, in 12-ounce/6-pack cans in March 2013. Watershed IPA is a Northwest style India Pale Ale which highlights the flavors and aromas of our region’s best hops. Sales of the 12-ounce/6-pack cans will begin at 3p on Friday, March 1st at the Oakshire Brewing tasting room and will be distributed to Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Northern Idaho.

January 1st arrived and we hit the ground running. In addition to the 3 single batch beers that we released this month {Verbleek, Pale 01210 & Black Moon Rye-sin’} we’re making solid progress on our expansion goals for this year.

First up: new fermentation tanks.

We will release our 3rd barrel aged beer under the label Hellshire on Saturday, February 16th. Hellshire III is a Foreign Style Stout aged for nearly a year in bourbon barrels from Heaven Hills Distillery in Kentucky. Sales of the 22oz wax dipped bottles will begin at 10a in our tasting room on Madera Street during the Oregon Brewers Guild Zwickelmania event.

As the cold & rainy winter season firmly takes its grasp upon us, we retaliate with a dose of soul warming beers: Milky Way Stout, Bitter Rye-Varly and Ol’2 Planker Barleywine.
