Well, another Oregon Craft Beer Month has passed and we are on the wind down period of summer. As my thoughts turn towards the Great American Beer Fest in September and our fall and winter seasonals, I thought I'd look back on the crazy July. These thoughts were prompted by a handful of recent critiques from various beer writers/bloggers on their lack of joy from what has now become OCBM. I first noticed it on Brady's site, The Daily Pull.

So you found our new website. Awesome! Now find our beers pouring this Friday and Saturday at the Willamette Valley Brews and Blues Festival in Springfield. We'll have Watershed IPA and Line Dry Rye. And of course you can hang out in the grass for some smokin' blues. See you there!

We had such an overwhelming response to our last beer and cheese pairing class, Matt, Joe and I will be doing another class for everyone who didn't get a chance to make it the last time. Join us as we try 5 new cheeses, four Oakshire beers and one guest beer. We will discuss methods of pairing, cheese production, sensory analysis and why drinking beer and eating cheese make for well rounded individuals! A big shout out goes to James at Benedetti's Meat Market and Deli over in Springfield for stepping in for JP at Devour this last Saturday. If you missed it, James was on hand grilling up brats made with Watershed IPA (as he makes them for Devour) and other goodies. Thanks for stepping up to the plate. Sorry we didn't give you notice, but I bet if you came in, you weren't sorry. Also, look for Benedetti's this summer at PK Park! I'd also like to give everyone a heads up on some new-ish faces around Oakshire.

Well, it's nearly a week past and I'm just catching my breath from last weekend. Whew! Thanks to everyone for coming out and trying our beer at the KLCC fest Friday and Saturday and for all those who toured Eugene and Springfield breweries, we appreciate you coming out to see us! Here's a little info to close it out:

It's that time again! I've been so busy in the brewhouse that the events that I should have been letting you know about have just piled up. This post will serve as a catch up to the great things happening this Month with Oakshire beer. First and Foremost, I should tell you about the upcoming state wide brewery open house sponsored by the Oregon Brewers guild called Zwickelmania. It will be held Saturday, February 13th from 11-4 at more than 40 differerent breweries around the state. More on the event in general can be found here.

Who says post Holidays are a slow time of year? Oakshire brewing plans to pound the pavement and come out and see you and share a beer with you. As always, you can click on "Oakshire events" to the right for a calendar of what we are up to. And as always, you can come to use every Saturday from 12-4 for tours and tastings. Plus, we are visited by our friends at Devour who have tasty sandwiches and soup made with Oakshire beer. Stop by for lunch and a tour this Saturday!
