Single Batch Series: Glen's Hop Vice 2011 now available

Glen's Hop Vice, our yearly tribute to the late brewer Glen Hay Falconer, debuted at the 2011 Sasquatch fest and is now available. Every year we select one malt and one hop to craft this Imperial IPA. This year, Gambrinus ESB malt and Nugget hops are the choices. This amazingly fragrant IPA clocks in at 8.8%. Get it now because as usual, it is draft only and won't last long. Cheers!

    Harvest Ale

Our little ‘farmhouse garden’ at the brewery is in full bloom, and as I take a break from a little farming, I can’t think of anything better than cracking an Oakshire Harvest Ale, our fall seasonal. Here’s a little insight into developing this beer: Harvest Ale is the final beer in our seasonal series which includes Line Dry Rye, Ill Tempered Gnome, and O’Dark:30. It was inspired by our favorite fresh hop beer from 2009 and we just had to find a place for it in the seasonal line up.

Oakshire has crossed over into the coffee world. How Sweet!

As I was reading through our professional Organization's forum (Brewers Association), a linked article caught my eye-mainly because it said "Oakshire". It linked to here-an Article at Examiner.com about us. In fact, it is Caffeine Examiner-they have countless-Wine, Beer, Organic Food, Entertainment. It's a great Article about our Overcast Espresso Stout and how the author found it at the GABF.

If you haven't seen my 2 minutes and 35 seconds of fame yet, you might click on the following to see a little Interview with Draft Magazine at the 2009 Great American Beer Festival in Denver: http://news.draftmag.com/2009/10/13/draft-uncapped-interview-with-oakshire-brewing-co-at-gabf-2009/ When my friend Jonathan Surratt of Draft and Beermapping.com asked me to sit in for an interview, I ran right to the booth to chat with the lovely editor in cheif Erika Rietz.

Get on The Oakshire Bus! Come and see us when we are in your 'hood.

Now that we are settling back into the routine after our GABF trip (didya hear, we earned a silver for Overcast ;) ), we're looking forward to promoting our beers throughout Oregon. The best way to find out where we will be and try a little of our beery goodness is to go to the links to the right and hit Oakshire events and a calendar pops up with all of our upcoming appearances. I want to highlight a few: *EVERY SATURDAY-12-4 Tours and tastings at the brewery. 1055 Madera in Eugene.

We're now known as "The award winning brewery, Oakshire Brewing"

After a long week in Denver Colorado at the Great American Beer Festival, we were very proud and honored to come away with a silver medal in the coffee beer category for our Overcast Espresso Stout!! We're even more happy that you can find this year round beer in both draft and bottles around the entire state of Oregon! Starting Wednesday, I began judging beers for the GABF. This is my third year judging.

Oregon Brewers Festival Here We Come!!

If you are in Portland this week, I assume you'll be taking in the OBF or the many events that go along with it. Oakshire Brewing will be in the house with a keg of Glen's Hop Vice at the Brewers Dinner AND in the new Buzz tent. Then at the fest we will have Overcast Espresso Stout. I know it's gonna be warm, but if you are looking for one of the 4-ish dark beers at the fest, look no further than the Overcast. Deceptively drinkable and deliciously perky-A shot of espresso in every pint. (You know I just watched Beer Wars.

We have two beer options for you this weekend.

Mr. Weatherman says our weather will be 76 and sunny on Saturday-sweet! You should join us at the Brewers Memorial Ale Fest in at Rogue in Newport. It runs Fri-Sun and we will have Watershed and Overcast. IF you don't want to run up to Newport for 50 different breweries' beer, you should drive over to Madera and take a brewery "tour". I'll be there from 12-4. A new Watershed IPA was thrown in the cooler. I think I saw a keg of Hindsight ESB in there too. And we haven't run out of our experimental Belgian beers.
