Matt Van Wyk

Recruited from Chicago, Matt is a beer industry veteran with 12 years of experience and numerous national accolades: the GABF Small Brewpub Brewmaster of the Year in 2006, and upon joining Oakshire he won a Silver Medal for our Overcast Espresso Stout.

As Brewmaster, Matt oversees the production of our Year Round and Seasonal Beers, while simultaneously crafting a staggering array of small batch beers.  While you may find Matt out promoting Oakshire, he spends most of his days at the brewery - brewing, racking, packaging, barrel-tending, sampling and blending. Oh, and he's a real nice guy too.

This great community

There is always something communal happening at Oakshire. We host classes, tastings, and community events as a way to introduce more people to Oakshire and each other.  We also regularly partner with non-profits in our community to promote events and help raise funds.

You may find us planting trees in our neighborhood or helping to facilitate an art auction for the local humane society or even brewing up special beers to acknowledge the public utility that provides our water.  We love where we work and really love the community where we live and do business.
