The Oakshire family is excited to celebrate 10 years of brewing history with all of you!  
In celebration of Oakshire Brewing’s vibrant history, ten different beers will be released – one per day for ten days and each inspired by a specific year of our history.  The beers released will range from one-time only Pilot beers inspired by previous year’s recipes, to Vintage barrel-aged beer from Oakshire’s cellar library, to an annual Core Seasonal.  


October 6, 2016:

To kick off the 10-day celebration, we are inviting everyone to our Public House to launch what is sure to be an epic spree of great beer experiences.  We will distribute the schedule and punch card, for everyone to track their visits in order to win prizes on the 10th day.  This is a great chance to learn about what is coming up for the next 9 days & sit down with a friend to plan your schedule with good beers, tunes, and food at the ready.

Progression of the brewing industry often dictates the beers that are made. However some recipes still hold strong years later. Our Amber is the same recipe that our founder Jeff Althouse founded Oakshire with, unchanged and as great as ever. But what if Jeff had written the recipe in 2016, how would it change? Hops of course! We are taking our Amber ale and dry-hopping the bajeezus out of it.

October 7, 2016:

BEER: Imperial IPA

Oakshire Inspires is hitting the road. We are taking our community fundraising program to First National Taphouse for an art show during the Downtown First Friday Art Walk. The works will be from students in the Oregon Supportive Living Center’s Arts & Culture Program, which breaks down barriers to participation in the arts for people of all abilities and builds bridges to a more diverse and inclusive community. A dollar from every Oakshire pint sold will be donated to this non-profit organization that supports people with developmental disabilities.

In 2007 we brewed the first batch of Watershed IPA… Well not exactly … The first batch of Watershed came way over the anticipated gravity, and so Oakshire’s first Imperial IPA was made. It went over so well that our now yearly favorite Perfect Storm was born, and Watershed is still our best selling beer. As a tribute to those first batches of Watershed and our continued love of brewing hoppy beer, we are brewing a special Imperial IPA. This one is going to be insanely hopped, but incredibly drinkable. We’re busting out some awesome new techniques to really make this beer shine.

October 8, 2016:

BEER: Oakshire Wheat

When the game starts, we kick off a Ducks viewing party with an easy drinking and flavorful brew.  And is there a better way to celebrate a crisp fall Saturday than with a couple refreshing Hefeweizens, an exciting game, and good company? Oakshire thinks not!

For the first few years of the company, one of the mainstay beers was our Oakshire Wheat ale. We are brewing a reinterpretation of Oakshire Wheat. An American Hefeweizen for the beginning of fall. Light and very quaffable.

October 9, 2016:

Talk about Sunday Funday! We are excited to welcome back Da Nang to the Oakshire Public House. Chef Tony and his team will be serving a menu of delicious lunch items made and paired with some of our favorite beers. Stay tuned for menu and pairings, one of which will definitely include a pairing with the Imperial O’Dark 30 released that day.

In 2009 we first brewed O’Dark, a Cascadian Dark Ale or Black IPA. It remained in our seasonal line-up until 2014. Always a crowd favorite, we are bringing it back bigger and better than ever. We’re going to kick it up a notch and make an awesome Imperial Black IPA. This time hopped with a huge amount of Simcoe, Centennial and Chinook.

October 10, 2016:

BEER: Coconut Barrel-Aged Stout

Put on your thinking cap, toast to the end of Monday, and join us for Trivia Night at Cornucopia. There will be a special Craft Beer Trivia Round with questions directly written by the Oakshire Brewing team and a special prize package. Cornucopia is currently running a raffle to benefit Bridgeway House, running through November, which requires no more for entry than buying an Oakshire beer. The grand prize is a pair of Ducks tickets and an Oakshire Tailgate package. Only 2 kegs were produced of this special beer, so make sure you don’t miss out!

In 2010 we released the first batch of Hellshire, an American Barleywine aged in Bourbon barrels. In March we released Hellshire VI; Hellshire VII is quietly resting away in our barrel warehouse. The first of our anniversary barrel releases, we found a barrel of imperial stout that we liked and further aged it on toasted coconut.

October 11, 2016:

BEER: Heart Shaped Box

Join us at 16 Tons for an amazing line-up of amazing beers from our Vintage program. In addition to Heart Shaped Box, we will be pouring vintage Hellshires and other beers from our Vintage Library. Some of our brewers will also be on hand to discuss the beers and our barrel-aging program. The awesome-ness of this event needs no more fanfare, the beer says it all.

A reinterpretation of an awesome beer that we did in 2011. Another barrel-aged imperial stout, this one is further aged on coffee, cocoa nibs, vanilla beans and bing cherries. Basically our take on a candy bar beer. We are really looking forward to this one!

PARTY TIME! Come join us in our Public House to celebrate our official 10th birthday. In addition to the opportunity to hang out with the whole Oakshire Brewing crew, we’ll release X: 10th Anniversary, Leftorium out of the library, and have several of the single-batch beers released throughout the week on tap. Their will be a menu of food cooked and designed to pair with our beers, a DJ pumping old school jams, and much more! This party is not to be missed!  

Please bring a winter clothing item (or several) to donate to Hosea Youth Services and be rewarded with discounted pours!

This wild ale, which is one of the first barrel projects our current brewing team worked on together in 2012, is a blend of old and aged Flanders red ales from our library of Vintage beers. 
AND… X: 10th Anniversary
Through ten years of brewing we have continued to push the boundaries of how we see beer. This beer is a culmination of all of our progression and learning. We dug deep into our wild beer cellar and selected the most expressive and unique barrels to create a beer worthy of being called X. It is a blend of three distinct threads: golden farmhouse with white wine grapes, Biere de Garde, and Brett Table Farmhouse beer.  The beer will be bottle conditioned and ready to drink now, or cellar for years to come. This beer is our thanks to all the people that have supported us over the last ten years.

October 13, 2016:

BEER: Welcome Wit

The Bier Stein in its original location was our very first account in Eugene, so they will always have a special place in our hearts . We could think of no better way to share our beers and collective love than a tap takeover.  Featuring Welcome Wit, which we brewed in celebration for our own Public House opening, and an array of beers from the weeks single-batch releases, we are excited about the chef's special pairing menu.

For the opening of our Public House in 2013, we brewed a Belgian Wit beer as a way of saying thank you to the Whiteaker neighbor for welcoming us with open arms. This is, as brewers, one of our favorite styles to make and we are excited to bring it back to the neighborhood. Brewed with coriander and orange peel and fermented with Belgian Wit yeast.

BEER Oktoberfest Marzen

To coincide with the release of our Oktoberfest Marzen we wanted to grill up some specialty beer brats marinated in Watershed IPA. While we know that the Oktoberfest is actually in September, we wanted to celebrate the release of this beer in the German fashion – with some tasty (and complimentary!) sausage – and congratulate Filling Station on their newly opened second location. We will be accepting donations for Food for Lane County, either in canned goods or direct cash.

A German style Marzen brewed with Bohemian Pilsner, Munich, Vienna, Caramunich, and a touch of Chocolate malt. A deep Orange hue, full bodied mouthfeel, and finished with German Hallertau Tradition. This lager was fermented with our house lager yeast strain.

We brewed a lot of beers and celebrated all around town. Now it’s time to have our own Public House Tap Takeover – with all of the (still available) beers from the past 9 days on tap. Available all day during our normal hours of operations, we will have as many beers as possible on tap. In support of the Doggerland releases, we are making a special dog area for the day and supporting the Northwest Dog Project who will be on hand with dogs and information about adoption. Come get these beers before they're gone forever!

Doggerland is the land area during the last Ice Age that unified the Baltic region and Western Europe with England in what is now the North Sea. Our porter sails with rich malty aromas of wood grain, coffee, licorice and a hint of smoke Three dark and a touch of cherry wood smoked malts, unify and balance the smooth the smooth cold fermented character of this beer.

Note that all beers released for special events outside the Oakshire Public House will also be available same day in the Public House 10 days. Punch card, however, can only be validated at the location of the primary event that day.
