The Oakshire Team is so excited for our Tenth Anniversary coming up that we couldn’t resist extending the party into a 10-day affair of events around Eugene and in our Public House.  And, as if 10 days of awesome, celebratory events isn't enough, we decided to brew 10 very special beers to commemorate the occasion – releasing one at each daily event!

October 6, 2016:

To kick off the 10-day celebration, we are inviting everyone to our Public House to launch what is sure to be an epic spree of great beer experiences.  We will distribute the schedule and punch card, for everyone to track their visits in order to win prizes on the 10th day.  This is a great chance to learn about what is coming up for the next 9 days & sit down with a friend to plan your schedule with good beers, tunes, and food at the ready.

WHERE: Oakshire Public House

WHEN: 5-10 PM

CHARITY: McKenzie River Trust

MUSIC: Will Brown

FOOD: Oregon Wood Fired Pizza

BEER: Dry Hopped Amber on Cask

Progression of the brewing industry often dictates the styles of beers the industry produces, but some recipes hold strong for years. Oakshire’s Original Amber is the same recipe that Founder Jeff Althouse formulated when Oakshire started in 2006 - unchanged and as well-loved as ever. But what if Jeff had written the recipe in 2016; how would it change? Why, more hops of course! So we took our Original Amber ale and dry-hopped the heck out of it. Bring your love for Amber and a hop helmet to this fun, delicious release, as we kick off 10 days of celebration!

October 7, 2016:

WHERE: First National Taphouse (51 W Broadway, Eugene)

WHEN: 7-9 PM (during Downtown First Friday Art Walk)

CHARITY: Oregon Supported Living Center

BEER: Imperial IPA

Oakshire Inspires is hitting the road. We are taking our community fundraising program to First National Taphouse for an art show during the Downtown First Friday Art Walk. The works will be from students in the Oregon Supported Living Program's Arts & Culture Program, which breaks down barriers to participation in the arts for people of all abilities and builds bridges to a more diverse and inclusive community. A dollar from every Oakshire pint sold will be donated to this non-profit organization that supports people with developmental disabilities.

In 2007 Oakshire brewed its first batch of Watershed IPA … well, not exactly. The first batch of Watershed actually came out way over the anticipated gravity, inadvertently yielding Oakshire’s first Imperial IPA. While the actual Watershed IPA we crafted has become one of Oakshire’s best-selling beers, the serendipitous Imperial IPA went over so well that we decided to make it a yearly offering as an annual spring seasonal: our juicy, crisp and always highly-anticipated Perfect Storm. As a tribute to those first batches of Watershed and our continued love of brewing hoppy beer, we’re crafting a very special Imperial IPA – and you better believe this is going to be one insanely hopped, but incredibly drinkable, Imperial IPA. In fact, we’re busting out some awesome new techniques to really make this beer shine – be sure and ask one of our brewers at the release!

October 8, 2016:

WHERE: Tap and Growler (207 E 5th Ave #115, Eugene)

WHEN: Ducks Kickoff, 4:30, until 7 PM

BEER: Oakshire Wheat

When the game starts, we kick off a Ducks viewing party with an easy drinking and flavorful brew.  And is there a better way to celebrate a crisp fall Saturday than with a couple refreshing Hefeweizens, an exciting game, and good company? Oakshire thinks not!

In Oakshire’s early years, one of our mainstay beers was Oakshire Wheat ale. To celebrate those early days, we’re brewing up a reinterpretation of this beloved beer, an American Hefeweizen, timed perfectly with the beginning of fall. Like its predecessor, this Oakshire Wheat is going to be light and very quaffable; unlike its predecessor, we’re releasing it to celebrate 10 exciting years!

October 9, 2016:

WHERE: Oakshire Public House (207 Madison Street, Eugene)

WHEN: 11-3 PM

MUSIC: Walker T Ryan

FOOD: Da Nang Special Menu

BEER: Imperial O’Dark:30

Talk about Sunday Funday! We are excited to welcome back Da Nang to the Oakshire Public House. Chef Tony and his team will be serving a menu of delicious lunch items made and paired with some of our favorite beers. Stay tuned for menu and pairings, one of which will definitely include a pairing with the Imperial O’Dark:30 released that day.

In 2009, Oakshire first brewed O’Dark:30, a Cascadian Dark Ale or Black IPA. This beer remained in our seasonal line-up until 2014 when we took our seasonal program in a different direction. But, hey, we’re celebrating 10 great years and all the paths we’ve had the privilege to walk.  So, we’re bringing this crowd-pleaser back, just a little bigger and better than ever before. Indeed, we’re kicking this brew up a notch to create an amazing Imperial Black IPA, hopped with a ton of Simcoe, Centennial and Chinook. Prepare yourselves CDA/Black IPA fans – this very limited production beer is going to be talked about for the next decade till we do it again!

October 10, 2016:

WHERE: Cornucopia on 5 th (207 E 5th Ave, Eugene)

WHEN: 8 PM tapping, 9 PM Trivia

CHARITY: Bridgeway House

BEER: Coconut Barrel-Aged Stout

Put on your thinking cap, toast to the end of Monday, and join us for Trivia Night at Cornucopia. There will be a special Craft Beer Trivia Round with questions directly written by the Oakshire Brewing team and a special prize package. Cornucopia is currently running a raffle to benefit Bridgeway House, running through November, which requires no more for entry than buying an Oakshire beer. The grand prize is a pair of Ducks tickets and an Oakshire Tailgate package. Only 2 kegs were produced of this special beer, so make sure you don’t miss out!

In 2010 we released the first batch of Hellshire, an American Barleywine aged in Bourbon barrels. Fast forward a number of years and we just released Hellshire VI in March, 2016 – and, of course, Hellshire VII is already quietly resting away in our barrel warehouse, waiting for its release in 2017 (sleep tight, gentle giant!). To celebrate the excitement around all of our barrel-program releases, we found a barrel of imperial stout that we loved and further aged it on toasted coconut.  Is it cold and rainy and time for a Hellshire release, or are you on a sunny Maui beach? Who knows!  And who cares: this beer is going to make you happy to be alive no matter where the flavors take you!

October 11, 2016:

WHERE: 16 Tons (256 E. 13th Ave., Eugene)

WHEN: 6 – 9 PM

BEER: Heart Shaped Box

Join us at 16 Tons for an amazing line-up of amazing beers from our Vintage program. In addition to Heart Shaped Box, we will be pouring vintage Hellshires and other beers from our Vintage Library. Some of our brewers will also be on hand to discuss the beers and our barrel-aging program. The awesome-ness of this event needs no more fanfare, the beer says it all.

This heart-breaking beer is a reinterpretation of an awesome beer that we did in 2011. As our second barrel-aged imperial stout release of the Tenth Anniversary celebration, this beauty was further aged on coffee, cocoa nibs, vanilla beans and bing cherries. Basically this is Oakshire’s take on a candy bar beer, and our loving gift to you! We hope you’re looking forward to your date with this release as much as we are!

October 12, 2016:

WHERE: Oakshire Public House (207 Madison Street, Eugene)

WHEN: 6 – 10 PM

CHARITY: Hosea Youth Services: Winter Clothing Drive

MUSIC: DJ Connor J

FOOD: Vivre Catering

BEER: Leftorium & X: 10th Anniversary

PARTY TIME! Come join us in our Public House to celebrate our official 10th birthday. In addition to the opportunity to hang out with the whole Oakshire Brewing crew, we’ll release X: 10th Anniversary, Leftorium out of the library, and have several of the single-batch beers released throughout the week on tap. Their will be a menu of food cooked and designed to pair with our beers, a DJ pumping old school jams, and much more! This party is not to be missed!

Please bring a winter clothing item (or several) to donate to Hosea Youth Services and be rewarded with discounted pours!

Yep: your Flanders friend is back with a veritable shop-full of goodness!  This wild ale, which is one of the first barrel projects that Oakshire’s production team worked on from 2012, is a blend of aged Flanders red ales from our library of Vintage beers. Whether you quaff this bright, delightful beer left-handed or right-handed is up to you!
AND… X: 10th Anniversary
Through ten years of brewing, Oakshire has continued to push the boundaries of how we see beer, and this beer is a culmination of our progression and learning. We dug deep into our wild beer cellar and selected the most expressive and unique barrels to create a beer worthy of being called X. It is a blend of three distinct threads: golden farmhouse with white wine grapes, Biere de Garde, and Brett Table Farmhouse beer.  The beer will be bottle conditioned and ready to drink now, or cellar for years to come – either way this X:10th Anniversary beer is our thanks to all of our fans, family and friends that have supported us over the last ten years.

October 13, 2016:

WHERE: The Bier Stein (1591 Willamette St, Eugene)

WHEN: 6 – 11 PM

BEER: Welcome Wit

The Bier Stein in its original location was our very first account in Eugene, so they will always have a special place in our hearts . We could think of no better way to share our beers and collective love than a tap takeover.  Featuring Welcome Wit, which we brewed in celebration for our own Public House opening, and an array of beers from the weeks single-batch releases, we are excited about the chef's special pairing menu.

For the opening of our Public House in 2013, we brewed a Belgian Wit beer to say “thank you” to the Whiteaker neighborhood for welcoming us with open arms. As brewers, this is one of our favorite styles to make, and we are beyond excited to bring it back to the neighborhood. We brewed this iteration of our Welcome Wit with coriander and orange peel and fermented it with Belgian Wit yeast. We once again toast “the Whit,” and sincerely thank our neighbors of our Public House for being such incredible, thoughtful and supportive friends.  Cheers!

October 14, 2016:

WHERE Filling Station West (4925 Barger Street, Eugene)

WHEN 6 – 9 PM

CHARITY Food for Lane County

BEER Oktoberfest Marzen

To coincide with the release of our Oktoberfest Marzen we wanted to grill up some specialty beer brats marinated in Watershed IPA. While we know that the Oktoberfest is actually in September, we wanted to celebrate the release of this beer in the German fashion – with some tasty (and complimentary!) sausage – and congratulate Filling Station on their newly opened second location. We will be accepting donations for Food for Lane County, either in canned goods or direct cash.

Whether you delve deep into the history and trappings of Oktoberfest events, or you simply enjoy the change of the season and the delicious fall beers that come with it, this German-style Marzen, brewed with Bohemian Pilsner, Munich, Vienna, Caramunich, and a touch of Chocolate malt, is sure to knock your socks (or, um, lederhosen?) off!  With a deep Orange hue, full bodied mouthfeel, and finished in the German Hallertau tradition, this lager was fermented with our house lager yeast strain and will certainly help us all celebrate the season!

October 15, 2016:

WHERE Oakshire Public House (207 Madison Street, Eugene)

WHEN 11 AM – 10 PM

CHARITY Northwest Dog Project

MUSIC DJ Dawn Baby

FOOD: The Dumpling Group & Sammich

BEER Doggerland Baltic Porter

We brewed a lot of beers and celebrated all around town. Now it’s time to have our own Public House Tap Takeover – with all of the (still available) beers from the past 9 days on tap. Available all day during our normal hours of operations, we will have as many beers as possible on tap. In support of the Doggerland releases, we are making a special dog area for the day and supporting the Northwest Dog Project who will be on hand with dogs and information about adoption. Come get these beers before they're gone forever!

During the last Ice Age, Doggerland was the land mass, now lying under the North Sea, that unified the Baltic region and Western Europe with England. In the spirit of the axiom that a rising tide lifts all boats, we brewed this beer as a tribute to craft brewers everywhere, who we thank for continually teaching and learning with us for the last ten years. This porter has rich malty aromas of wood grain, coffee, licorice and a hint of smoke, with a touch of cherry wood smoked malts that unifies and balances the smooth cold fermented character of this beer.  Support your local craft brewery and hop aboard to sail the Baltic Seas with us!

Note that all beers released for special events outside the Oakshire Public House will also be available same day in the Public House 10 days. Punch card, however, can only be validated at the location of the primary event that day.
